Biography

I was born and raised in Patagonia, specifically in Rada Tilly, a coastal town surrounded by mesetas. As a child, I often went trekking and biking in those nearby mesetas. During vacations, my family and I frequented Esquel, a town nestled close to the mountains. There, we would spend time by the river and embark on short hikes. As I grew older and began my studies in geology at university, I started venturing into more mountainous regions, engaging in longer hikes and camping trips as a backpacker. I explored various parts of Patagonia and eventually ventured to places in Peru and Ecuador with friends. For my PhD, I relocated to Ushuaia, a mountainous city located in the southwestern region of Patagonia and at the southernmost tip of the Andean Cordillera. My research focuses on mountain geomorphology in the Fuegian Andes, an area characterized by rugged terrain, including cirques and hanging valleys. Here I have walked and climbed numerous mountains for recreational purposes and also to gather data for my research. I have visited uncovered and rock glaciers and have taken sediment samples from the bottom of their proglacial lakes. Recently, I had the opportunity to work in the vicinity of the Grey Glacier, located in Torres del Paine National Park, Chile.
