Biography

Dr. Sudeep Thakuri is a Climate Scientist, focusing his research work on cryosphere, climate change, GHG emission and environmental issues in the Himalaya. He is an Associate Professor of Environmental Science at Tribhuvan University and is a former Dean of Science and Technology at Mid-West University. He is also currently serving as a Lead Author for the IPCC AR7 WG III. He holds a PhD in Natural and Environmental Sciences with specialization in climate change from the University of Milan, Italy. He has expertise in the areas of climate dynamics, climate analysis and modelling, glacial lakes, cryosphere and hydrological processes, GHG emissions. He had previously worked as an Expert with different national and international organizations, including UN Food and Agriculture Organization, WWF Nepal, University of Milan, Institute of Water Research – National Research Council, and Ev-K2-CNR Association of Italy in various roles. He has published around 100 international and national scientific articles, reports, and book chapters.
